Soda goes flat because carbon dioxide escapes the liquid into the empty space above it, and then out of the bottle every time you open it. Once you understand that, most of the internet's advice sorts itself into 'physics' and 'folklore' very quickly.

Mistakes that waste your money
- Putting a spoon in the neck of the bottle. It does nothing — this is the most repeated myth in the category.
